Do you have children enrolled in an elementary school in the province of Ontario?
If yes, they can learn one or more international languages for FREE!
You read that right! If you have kids enrolled in an elementary school in Ontario (Canada) (JK - Grade 8), they can learn one or more international languages for FREE*! 😍
THE INTERNATIONAL LANGUAGES PROGRAM:
The Ontario Ministry of Education funds the International Languages program, which is intended for students who wish to learn a new language (other than English or French), preserve their own language or enhance their intercultural awareness. It includes many language options to select from, including many South Asian languages! 🤟
If you are interested in teaching your kids Gujarati, Bangla, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, or any other language, search on your local school board's website for "International Languages program", and fill out the registration form to get started.👨🎓
The program offers both in-person* and virtual learning options. Classes run once a week (usually on weekends) for the entire school year! 🎉
*There is a nominal consumable fee if you opt for in-person lessons (approximately $20-$30 for the year), virtual lessons are FREE of cost.
I recently found out about this program and enrolled both my kids in Gujarati school - they go every Saturday for 2.5 hours and are currently learning to read and write the alphabets!
I hope you take advantage of this wonderful program that the Province so generously offers. 🙏
